An investment manager is actively seeking a Senior Business Systems Analyst with experience in the Asset Management space to support the development of their Portfolio Management system. This role is part of the Information Technology team and will be the liaison between development and business partners including portfolio management, operations, and technology teams to define business and functional specifications.
Responsibilities:
- Research and implement new front office solutions to support technology, portfolio managers, risk managers and operations teams
- Provide subject matter expertise on all technology related issues for the firm’s front office investment systems
- Work closely with all these business units to ensure that business needs are met
- Work closely with Business Analysts to ensure and validate the enhancements and changes to the technical functionality
- Lead the effort for authoring business and technology specifications for all front-office and middle office solutions
- Will be responsible for keeping the firm aware of new investment management technologies and industry trends, new products, services, and vendors
- Participate as part of technology management on assessing the overall technology status and functionality of all investment management applications and tools
Requirements:
- Must have 5+ years of experience working as a Front Office Business Analyst in Asset Management industry involving Portfolio Management systems including requirements gathering, analyzing, and communicating business requirements to achieve strategic goals
- Minimum of bachelor’s in information systems, CS, or Finance
- Proven knowledge of investment (fixed income and equity) strategies, processes and technologies
- Experience in implementing portfolio management functionality using vendor systems such as Charles River, Aladdin, Bloomberg, Factset, RiskMetrics and SimCorp is a must
- Experience identifying and escalating potential requirement gaps to senior project and business partners
- Ability to use SQL tools, Python, and R for data analysis
- Understanding of financial market data
- Detail oriented with exceptional verbal and written communication skills
- Willingness to take initiative, seeing problems through to final completion
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks, set goals and meet deadlines in a high-pressure environment
